TWO-WEEK PAUSE IN JACKSON COUNTY 11.11.20

The Ashland Family YMCA is aware of an announcement from the Governor's office calling for a Two-Week Pause for several Oregon counties, including Jackson County, from 11/11 through 11/25. Under the updated measures, many establishments, including gyms, are asked to reduce to a 50 person capacity.

As you may know, the Y is more than a gym, encompassing a child care center, an aquatics center, a fitness center, and a gymnastics/sports court area. We would like to assure our members that we are continuing to monitor the capacity levels of each area of the Y, as we have since reopening June 1.  We have been able to stay under the 50 person per area threshold since we opened on June 1st and will continue to do so during this two-week pause.

The health and safety of our members and our staff are of the utmost importance to us and we will continue to follow guidelines set by the Governor's office. Thank you for doing your part to promote health and safety at your Y and in your community!

New rules go into effect 7.24.20

Governor Kate Brown and officials from the Oregon Health Authority held a press briefing on Wednesday, July 22 to discuss updates on the state’s response to coronavirus.  We have been in contact with the governor’s office, childcare authorities and aquatic officials in regards to the updated statewide guidance in regards to capacity limits and face coverings in gyms, pools, childcare, and other programs.

We are MORE THAN A GYM and need to follow different regulations in a variety of program areas.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Face covering, shields or masks – covering your nose and mouth - are required at all times in our facility.
  • All members staff, volunteers and visitors ages 5 and up will be required to wear a face covering while in our facility.
  • Face coverings are not allowed in the pool or spa.
  • We are recording the attendance in our program areas and tracking the number of check-ins to our facility to ensure we stay within our capacity limits.

*if you need accommodations or have questions, please see management.

Program areas:

Fitness Center:  face covering, shields or masks are required at all times even while exercising and maintaining physical distance.

Youth Programs:  face coverings, shields or masks are required at all times for ages 5 and up.

Aquatic Center:  face coverings, shields or masks are required at all times when on the pool/spa deck, changing rooms and wet locker rooms – they are not allowed in the water.

Outdoor Activities:  face coverings, shields or masks are required at all times outside when a safe distance of 6 feet or more cannot be obtained.
