Member Handbook and Privacy Policy

The Member Handbook contains useful information and policies relating to our YMCA.  You can review the Member Handbook here. The Ashland Family YMCA is very concerned about the privacy of its members, employees and volunteers and maintains personal information in confidence. Silver&Fit Benefits

The Ashland YMCA is happy to offer the benefits of Silver&Fit, a fitness and healthy aging program designed to help you achieve better health through regular exercise. Silver&Fit is offered through many insurance plans and covers membership fees for older adults of Medicare age and up. To learn more, contact your insurance agent or visit the Silver & Fit website.  Bring your insurance card to member services, and we'll check to see if you qualify. Please note that specially contracted memberships are not eligible for NationWide membership.

Renew Active offered through United Healthcare

Starting in January 2022, the Ashland Family YMCA has partnered with United Healthcare to offer their Renew Active membership.  Staying active is not only good for your body, it’s also good for your mind. Renew Active® is a fitness program designed for both, with the goal of helping Medicare members reach fitness goals and stimulate their brains. The program is available with select UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans only and includes a membership at a participating fitness location at no extra cost.  Please contact your insurance agent or visit the Renew Active website for more information.  Please bring your United Healthcare insurance card to member services, and we'll be happy to check your eligibility.  Please note that specially contracted memberships are not eligible for NationWide membership.

Insurance Subsidized Memberships

You may be eligible for free or reduced membership using your insurance company benefits.  We contract with several organizations to bill for monthly membership dues.  Jackson Care Connect CCOAllCare Health and AllCare Health Advantage.  Bring your insurance card to member services to see if you qualify for a subsidized membership. Please note that specially contracted memberships do not receive guest passes nor are eligible for NationWide membership.

Class Registration

Pre-registration is required for some fitness and aquatic classes. Applicable fees must be paid in full at the time of registration and there will be no refunds after the second class session. Some classes have limited enrollment - early registration is recommended.

Child Abuse Prevention Practices

Safety is a priority for our youth participants.  Please view our Child Abuse Prevention practices.

Y Membership and Program Support

We count on the generosity of our members and donors to support the Y's Membership and Program Support program, which focuses on children and teens and provides financial assistance, on a sliding scale fee, to those in times of hardship. Gifts to the support fund make a huge difference in the lives of kids in our community. Every dollar donated goes directly to scholarships that send less fortunate kids to camp, teach them water safety and the joy of swimming, and allow them to learn and grow in the Y's after-school programs, sports leagues, and gymnastics classes while building self-esteem and developing the core Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

We accept donations online, by check, or using Visa and MasterCard. We are also happy to take donation payments in quarterly or monthly installments.

If you feel that you qualify for assistance this year, contact the Y or find the Membership and Program Support application here. Assistance may also depend on the availability of funds.

We Welcome Volunteers!

Our volunteers work in programs, lead classes, act as greeters and help raise funds to support our work. Pick up an application at the front desk and join us!  Online volunteer applications available here.

Termination for Cause

Members are subject to termination for cause, including verbal, physical or sexual harassment of any YMCA member, guest or employee; illegal or unsafe acts; or violation of YMCA membership policies.  We reserve the right to refuse service to a member or guest.

Facility Closures

The Y will be closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Additional closure dates may be necessary for building maintenance or repairs. Your low monthly membership fee takes these closures into account.
