Giving Back To Our Community
2021 Red Cross Blood Drives
One person can help save hundreds of lives, that's why we are doing our part in the community by hosting American Red Cross Blood Drives at our YMCA.
The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donations. There is no known end date in this fight against COVID-19, and the Red Cross urgently needs the help of blood and platelet donors.
Blood drives still need to happen during the COVID-19 pandemic. The need for blood is constant - patients need your help.
We are hosting American Red Cross Blood Drives at the Ashland Family YMCA on the following Wednesdays in 2021.
- February 3
- April 7
- June 2
- August 4
- October 6
- December 1
We will not have the usual blood mobile on site. Instead we will be using Studio #2. Entry and exit will be through the side emergency door (facing Tolman Creek Rd.). There will be directional signage.
To schedule your appointment or for more information, visit

Volunteers are also needed for the blood drives. Let us know if you would like to give back to our community in this way.
A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.
Blood: The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given. This type of blood donation usually takes about an hour.
Thank you for supporting the Y as we support the community.
