Each Independence Day, communities across the country come together to celebrate our nation’s history, honor the freedoms we enjoy, and reflect on the values that unite us. Here in Ashland, the annual 4th of July Parade is one of those cherished traditions that brings neighbors, families, and friends together in celebration.
This year is especially meaningful as America commemorates 250 years of independence. The parade theme, “Creating Our Future Together,” beautifully captures not only the spirit of the celebration, but also the mission that guides the Ashland Family YMCA every day.
For more than 125 years, the Ashland Family YMCA has been dedicated to strengthening our community by nurturing the potential of every child, improving health and well-being, and creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to belong and thrive. Whether it’s through youth sports, gymnastics, swim lessons, preschool, summer camps, wellness programs, or volunteerism, we believe stronger communities are built when we invest in one another.
We’re proud to once again be part of Ashland’s 4th of July Parade, where our incredible YMCA Gymnastics Team, staff, volunteers, and Y families will celebrate alongside the community we are honored to serve. Events like these remind us that the strongest communities aren’t built by individuals alone—they’re built by people working together with a shared purpose.
As we celebrate our nation’s past, we also look toward its future. Every child who discovers confidence through a new skill, every family who finds support at the Y, every older adult who builds strength and friendships, and every volunteer who gives back helps create a healthier, more connected community.
