Welcome to YMCA Camp DeBoer, where adventure, exploration, and seasons of memories await!

Set amidst the natural beauty of the Lake of the Woods, our camp provides a safe, nurturing, and exciting environment for children and youth to discover, learn, and grow. At YMCA Camp DeBoer, we believe in the power of outdoor experiences to inspire, educate, and transform young lives. Our camp offers a diverse range of programs and activities that cater to campers of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. Whether your child is a first-time camper or a returning adventurer, they’ll find something to ignite their passion and spark their curiosity.

Outdoor School (ODS) at YMCA Camp DeBoer

What participating students and teachers have to look forward to:

  • A beautiful location featuring several ecosystems, including a large marsh and surrounding forest.
  • A site-based curriculum designed specifically for what our environment has to offer.
  • Capacity for 130 students plus additional chaperones/teachers for ODS experiences lasting 3-5 days.
  • Spring and fall programs.
  • New facilities, heated cabins and gorgeous lake views
  • The opportunity to build friendships and practice academic teamwork, all within an inclusive learning environment.

Available dates for the 2026-27 school year (choose any three or four or five days within a single week. For three-day programs, we ask that you reserve a Monday through Wednesday or a Wednesday through Friday time slot, if possible):

Fall 2026 dates available:

  • September 21 – 25, 2026
  • September 28 – September 30, 2026
  • October 5 – 9, 2026 (accepting up to 85 more students)

Spring 2027 dates available:

  • May 3 – 7, 2027
  • May 10 – 14, 2027 (accepting up to 65 more students)
  • June 7 – 11, 2027

Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Overnight Camps – 2026

FREE BUSSING – YMCA Camp DeBoer is happy to announce that we now have a bussing option. Our goal is to lessen the environmental impact to our ecosystem and provide guardians with a simpler drop-off procedure more conducive to working families. All that choose to drive to camp instead of ride the bus will be charged an additional $20 fee. If you choose to drop your child off at the Ashland Family YMCA on Sunday, you will also need to pick them up there on Thursday.

Overnight Camp – Ages 8-14

Our traditional overnight camp is filled with fun and nonstop excitement! We have developed programs and activities that build confidence, social skills, and self-esteem. Through this program, campers can learn new skills or further existing ones by participating in the many activities camp has to offer. In a safe, healthy environment, care and guidance is always on hand to encourage children to try new activities. Includes: group games, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, archery, swimming, sports, arts and crafts, fishing and much more!

You Belong @ Camp – Ages 8-14 Free bus transportation from the Ashland Family YMCA is included

You Belong @ Camp is a traditional overnight summer camp for youth with experience in foster care and their siblings, including youth in recent adoption or guardianship. Campers spend five days and four nights at YMCA Camp DeBoer located along Lake of the Woods, OR. Campers are supported by experienced counselors and volunteers who work with foster youth. We still have many spots available for You Belong @ Camp. Each camper’s total registration cost is $100. The remainder of the fees are covered by scholarships after the camper is registered. No payment is required when initially registering, and the $100 fee is due prior to the start of camp. Flexible payment support and additional scholarships are available upon request.

This program is an opportunity for foster youth and their siblings to connect with campers who share life experience. We are passionate about our mission of providing access to youth who may not otherwise have an opportunity to attend overnight summer camp.

Camp activities include – gaga ball, archery, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking, tie dying, arts and crafts, hiking, campfire and more!

To request registration access, email ycampdeboer@ashlandymca.org with:

  1. The name, age, and gender identity of each youth interested in attending
  2. The name, age, and gender identity of any siblings who would attend with them
  3. A brief description of their connection to foster care, recent adoption, or guardianship
  4. The name and contact information of the adult helping with registration
  5. The name of any youth support service or organization connected to each youth

Youth may be registered by their foster family, caseworker, CASA, guardian, or another member of the youth’s support network.

After eligibility is confirmed, the camp team will provide registration instructions and the registration code.

Overnight Swim Camp – Ages 8-14 *Bussing Not Available* CANCELED DUE TO SMOKE

Swim Camp at YMCA Camp DeBoer is a weekend overnight experience designed to help youth improve swim skills, build confidence in and around the water, and experience the connection and belonging that come with camp. The program blends structured swim instruction with the broader values of the Ashland Family YMCA. Swim Camp is not a learn-to-swim program. Participants should be able to swim continuously without assistance and be comfortable participating in structured open water activities. Swim camp is designed for youth who are already comfortable swimming independently and are looking to build endurance, strengthening technique and gain experience in open water. Please note that youth ages 10-14 will be assigned to mixed-age cabin groups. Cabins will include campers from across this age range. Mini Overnight Camp – Ages 6-10

Three fun-filled days of camp activities geared more towards beginning campers, interests, and abilities. Much time and attention is put into mini camp activities, knowing that this may be your child’s first time away from home. Rest assured that responsible staff closely supervise all activities to give your camper a safe and enjoyable experience. With at least one counselor to a six camper ratio, each camper will receive plenty of care and attention.

Trails Quest – A Backpacking Adventure – Ages 14-17 – Drop off at the Y ONLY

Trails Quest is specifically designed for teens and includes programming away from the base camp of YMCA Camp DeBoer. Trails Quest is a combination of camp and a backpacking trip for campers ages 14-17 on the scenic trails of Southern Oregon.

Leaders in Training Camp – Ages 15-16

YMCA Camp DeBoer’s Leaders In Training (LIT) Camp is for campers ages 15+ or entering grades 10+ who want to enjoy a classic week at camp and build the leadership skills we look for in our camp staff. LITs don’t just learn to lead a cabin, rock a campfire song, and run an activity along side our trained staff, they also take on the LIT Challenge in their quest to join the LIT Wall Of Glory! Spend a week at camp and grow with us.

Junior Counselors Volunteer Program – Ages 15-17

This is a volunteer program allowing teens to get camp counselor experience and be part of the staff team at camp. Junior Counselors will fill out a volunteer application, interview for limited spots, participate in some staff training and have an average of 1-2 weeks participating in camp.
